The March 14 forces are preparing a memorandum to hand President Michel Suleiman listing the factors that are key to their participation in the national dialogue, reported An Nahar daily on Tuesday.

It reported that the factors consist of the formation of a neutral government ahead of the 2013 parliamentary elections, setting the issue of illegal arms as a main topic of discussion, keeping Lebanon away from regional disputes, and asserting the role of the army in Lebanon.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said Monday that the March 14 forces will make a final attempt in coordination with President Michel Suleiman to secure the minimum elements of a serious and meaningful dialogue.

Iran is plotting attacks on politicians and diplomats in several countries, including Lebanese figures, the Kuwaiti al-Rai newspaper reported on Thursday.

The daily said that U.S. media is expected to publish in the upcoming weeks reports about an Iranian network, which has planned to carry out assassination attempts.

Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday revealed that he has provided Palestinian leaders with the names of a group plotting to assassinate him, noting that they are “experienced individuals.”

In an interview on al-Manar television, Berri added that he had summoned top Palestinian leader Azzam al-Ahmed, member of Fatah’s Central Committee, to brief him on the available information, which were reported by “three sources.”

The March 14-led opposition reiterated on Monday its rejection to resume the national dialogue under the current government and said its participation was conditioned on the discussion of Hizbullah’s arms.

Lebanese Forces Leader Samir Geagea stressed during an interview with L'Orient Le Jour that his allies in the March 14 forces voiced their support to the resumption of the national dialogue.

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi expressed hope on Sunday that a National Dialogue that President Michel Suleiman had called for would succeed.

Al-Rahi also hoped in his sermon that the all-party talks would lead to the adoption of a new national pact that would create a “Lebanese Spring.”

Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea stated on Friday that he “understands” President Michel Suleiman’s call for dialogue “because I am aware of the amount of dangers surrounding Lebanon.”

He said before reporters in Maarab: “The dispute over the government must be resolved before dialogue can he held.”

The March 14 opposition coalition is planning to hold a large-scale meeting in an effort to end “the dictates of the Syrian regime” following deadly clashes that have left several people dead in Beirut and the northern port city of Tripoli.

Contacts have been made between the March 14 leaderships since the latest incidents erupted, An Nahar daily reported Tuesday.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea reiterated on Tuesday that the government should resign and be replaced by a neutral cabinet over the recent deadly clashes that shook Beirut and the northern port city of Tripoli.

In remarks to al-Mustaqbal newspaper, Geagea said: “The solution would be for the government to leave immediately and be replaced by a neutral cabinet.”

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun filed a lawsuit against Lebanese Forces leader MP Samir Geagea over his recent statements on the political assassinations in Lebanon since 2005.

According to a statement issued by the FPM press office, Aoun also filed a suit against the Central News Agency, Lebanese Forces’ website and al-Mustaqbal newspaper for misleading the judicial investigation and not providing it with the valuable information and for inciting a sectarian strife.
