Ukraine says member of security services 'murdered' in Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine said Thursday that one of its members had been killed in central Kyiv, in the most recent apparent targeted attack of security personnel since Russia invaded Ukraine.
"A criminal investigation has been launched into the murder of an SBU employee in the Golosiivsky district of Kyiv," the SBU said in written comments to AFP.
- Zelensky urges faster sanctions -
President Volodymyr Zelensky urged allies to speed up imposing new sanctions on Russia Thursday, after Moscow launched an hours-long overnight attack on Ukraine with hundreds of drones and missiles.
"Sanctions must be imposed faster, and pressure on Russia must be strong enough that they truly feel the consequences of their terror," he said on social media, specifying Russia had launched some 18 missiles and around 400 attack drones.

Russian strikes on Ukraine's capital Kyiv killed at least two people, the city's military administration said Thursday, after earlier warning of incoming missiles and reporting around a dozen wounded.
"Unfortunately, we have two dead. These people were killed by the Russians," Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's military administration, wrote on Telegram.
