US Embassy and CENTCOM say Mechanism 'remains fully in place'

The U.S. Embassy in Beirut and the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Friday reaffirmed that the U.S.-led Mechanism committee “remains fully in place and operational,” and that it will meet on February 25, following the latest reports about its fate.

“The U.S. Embassy in Beirut and @CENTCOM reaffirm that the military coordination framework as established in the Cessation of Hostilities agreement outlined on November 27, 2024, remains fully in place and operational, with the same goals, participants, and leadership,” the Embassy said in a post on X.

“The next Mechanism meeting is scheduled to take place in Naqoura on February 25, 2026. Looking ahead, subsequent meetings are scheduled for March 25, April 22, and May 20. These engagements will continue to serve as the primary forum for military coordination among the participating parties,” the Embassy added.
