Report: Ortagus shows flexibility but doesn't reassure on Israeli attacks

Lebanon’s top officials Joseph Aoun, Nabih Berri and Nawaf Salam said Deputy U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Morgan Ortagus “showed flexibility regarding some Lebanese demands that she was told of” during her weekend visit to Lebanon, Al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Monday.
“But no one heard from her a clear and reassuring answer as to halting the Israeli attacks and curbing their expansion, and she did not give a commitment that Israel would withdraw from the occupied areas, reiterating that the failure to hand over weapons would mean that Lebanon is not committed to the ceasefire,” the daily added.
