Franjieh meets Berri, urges president who wouldn't 'conspire against resistance'

Marada Movement chief Suleiman Franjieh met Monday in Ain el-Tineh with Speaker Nabih Berri, noting that the latter still supports his presidential nomination.

“Some announced their surrender before the battle, but let us await the battle and its outcome,” Franjieh said.

“What’s needed today is a president who wouldn’t conspire against the resistance, whereas a president who satisfies everyone would not be able to do anything,” the Marada leader added.

“We want an actual and legitimate president and he has to be pro-Arab and patriotic,” Franjieh said.

Franjieh also warned that “if any group gets defeated in Lebanon, entire Lebanon will be defeated,” while noting that his camp is willing to offer all sacrifices to prevent the eruption of a civil war.

How about a 'resistance' which doesn't conspire against the people and nation it is supposed to be protecting? Or better, someone who is not taking direct orders from another country.
