Geagea: Situation Can Never Turn to Normal under Magical Equation of Army, People, Resistance

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea condemned on Wednesday the attacks against the French unit in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon that took place near Sidon on Tuesday, thanking the French government for all its support for Lebanon.

He noted: “The security situation can never turn to normal as long as there are hundreds of thousands of unofficial security apparatuses.”

“It can never turn to normal under the magical equation of the army, people, and resistance,” he stressed before reporters in Mirab.

Furthermore, Geagea pointed out that the attack against the French troops took place shortly after Army Commander General Jean Qahwaji’s return from France where he held talks with a number of French military officials.

“It is as if someone on the internal scene is trying to say that the Lebanese army will never hold sway in the South,” he added.

“The situation in the county can no longer continue like this,” declared the LF leader.

On Tuesday, Geagea accused the government of seeking to take Lebanon backwards, lamenting that Hizbullah was using the Lebanese to turn its ally Iran into the chief regional power.

“The political and ideological project of Hizbullah is just a service to another project aimed at consolidating the Iranian influence in the Middle East,” he told supporters during a ceremony to launch LF’s web television on Tuesday night.

“What does Lebanon have to do with this project?” he wondered, accusing the Shiite party of using the interests of the Lebanese and their livelihoods to “transform Iran into the chief power in the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa.”

He said the government is not the least interested in the daily needs of the Lebanese, accusing it of refusing to solve the electricity and water crises, or work on alleviating the public debt, or fight corruption.

The cabinet “is very old” although it is new in terms of its formation and date of birth, the LF leader added.

Separately, Geagea hoped that the newly launched LF Web TV will meet the aspirations of the Lebanese and the Arabs and will contribute to spreading the culture of freedom, democracy and human rights.

Who cares? Dr. Abnormal is also a criminal. How is that normal? His place is in the gallows and then hanging down a tree by a rope. Now that's normal.

What is normal in this pseudo-country called Lebanon? Is it normal that a terrorist organization called hizbullah accused of killing a former prime minister and other lebanese leaders (among others) is controlling Lebanon's government and giving lectures in patriotism and good governance almost daily?
Is it normal that filthy prejudice thugs carry weapons and kill fellow lebanese.... Is it normal that a party whose loyalty is to a foreign powers wages wars, confiscates land, beats up ISF members, wages war on Beirut and its residents, deals in drugs and prostitution, launders money, humiliates the state and its security agencies, organizes 18 months sit-ins in downtown beirut...... and calls itself resistance and refers to its members as ashraf al nass..... NO IT IS NORMAL.......a million NOT NORMAL.....!!!

Gagea was involved in the civil war so were many of lebanon's so called leaders. Yet some seem to forget this fact and focus only on Samir Gagea. Your leaders committed more crimes and atrocities against the lebanese people than Gagea ever did. Hizbullah and its allies raped lebanon and its people. Gaega had the courage to denounce that period and move on. However, your leaders commit crimes against the lebanese on a daily basis. In a normal country, your nassrallah should be tried in a people's court for waging a war and causing unbelievable damage and loss of life. In a normal country, Aoun would be tried for treason for his past and present. It is useless to count the crimes these thugs have committed coz what is a crime in a normal country is considered an act of heroism in lebanon!

smalldig, how many times do I need to repeat myself. You're empty worded comments are still a waste of space, time, and internet quota. Be more constructive or stop embarrassing yourself...

Bigdig, the same country where another criminal is Speaker of the parliment.. the same country where a gang that raped and murdered thousands of women and children from their own sect is carrying weapons they claim to be divine. The same country where Aoun bombed and killed thousands in east and west beirut and is now held on a high and holly pedestal. so F... off with your same old b.s rhetoric about Geagea.. it was a civil war.. and in civil wars you kill.. whoever your adversary might be.. so if you get into a fight with someone you shower him with hugs and kisses while he is trying to beat the shit out of you? pathetic mentality and trail of thought.. you need an education. in addition, he willingly handed in his weapons.. although maybe he should have kept them as a balance to the above mentioned divine weapons.

Mr Geagea is a killer can anyone deny that?

Default-user-icon Le Phenicien (Guest) 27 July 2011, 16:26

MrBrain you are correct GA3GA3 is a murderer like all the Christians militias, they only wanted to slaughter Lebanese and Palestinians for the sake of the Zionist Israelis. The magnificent Nawaf Al Moussawi called them sectarian slaying gangs as opposed to the freedom fighters who fought Israel along side Arafat and Assad.

Guys take it easy on bigdig. He suffers from selective amnesia as well as from a low IQ, which hampers his ability to make sense when he comments. In fact, almost half of the Lebanese population suffers from these same symptoms. Doctors say it is the overexposure to misleading media outlets such as Al-Manar TV, OTV, NBN, tayyar.org, al-Akhbar, and the likes.

A surprising feature of people with these types of symptoms is that when they stumble upon respectable media outlet, they never seem to understand the articles. Doctors say this is mainly due to the humongous amount of skepticism that they are filled with.

Our prayers go to these people, in hope of them recovering soon.

Geagea is of course correct. What other country, when it comes to national security relies on this ridiculous formula of "the people, the army and the resistance"? None. National security is a matter reserved exclusively as a duty for the State, its Army and internal security forces. However, under the Hezbollah inspired formulation, the State is not egen in the equation. What are the people without their government? What is the army without its political civilian leadership in the government? Why is a "resistance" displacing a goverment?
This forumula is not a forumula for security, but one to displace the government with a militia.

No one is speaking more forcefully and insightfuly than Samir Geagea on the condition of our country today. God speed to you sir.

As for his past, only an imbecile would be unable to ditinguish that the only civil war era leaders ever punished for their crimes were Geagea and Aoun. And only because they were the strongest opponents to Syrian control.

Why only point out geagea as a "killer"? Berri is a killer aoun is a deserter and killer nssrallsh is a killer jumblatt is a killer THEY'RE ALL KILLERS! Nd Phoenician, I hope u know that ur beloved estezzz was In Shatilla;) the only difference is that geagea came out and apologized and is tryingnto do the right thing, unlike the rest of those warlords involved!

This Dr Greenthumb is totally insane..Can you explain how any normal person would believe this hearsay..This Statement is not valid and not based on any convincing facts…Using speculations to tailor a political accusation is the Zenith of hypocrisy..i am so sad to say but the proponents of Dr Greenthum blindly defend him because they are simply ignorant sectarians …

Since brain restoring/ reformatting is my specialty I will “try” to understand the logic is processed inside your brain….Mr Ithinkthere14iam I said Geagea is a killer and a criminal and you defend him by saying the other politicians are criminal as well….Can you please explain how can this statement defend Mr Geagea? Furthermore if you are admitting that Dr Greenthumb is a criminal why are you defending him?????? Look my son after examination I believe you have the LSS (Lebanese sectarian syndrome). You blindly and irrationally defend anyone who belongs to your religious tri

@McBrain I agree totally the Christian militia's past should never be forgotten and they all should pay with their lives but we should forgive and forget all the others, they all shed a new leaf, even Syria's crimes after all it was for our own good. Not to mention early Hezballah's fire bombing liquor stores, throwing acid on immodestly attired women they don't know and kidnapping Westerners so the Ayatollah can bargain for their release with US arms from Israel.

Rachid Karame was one of the most destructive characters on the Lebanese political scene always siding with outside forces against the sovereignty of Lebanon from 1958 when he supported Naser's United Arab Republic and qanted Lebanon to be partof it, to 1969 when he blocked the government for months in support of the PLO leading to the Cairo agreement, to 1973 to 1975 and his refusal to used the army under the pretext that it will split causing massacres and the army splitting non the less. In the mid eighties he was one of the leading proponent of the Syrian army return to West Beirut.

He did not need a militias because he had the PLO.

Whoever killed him did not do it soon enough, the Geagea trial was a joke.

How about you address what the man said rather than throwing personal attacks at him? He committed crimes during the civil war? Guess what, so did almost EVERY OTHER POLITICIAN. Including both March 8th and March 14th characters. So where does this leave us? Lets leave the past in the past because all of your political leaders are guilty of war crimes.

A man should be judged by his current actions not by what he has done in the past. Because of this I have to give Geagea credit. The years he spent in jail were in solitude reading about religion, philosophy, and reflecting over the bad and good things he did. After he was released from jail he became the only politician to apologize for his mistakes. And in the recent years when politicians have been spewing toxic statements he seems to be the only one to keep a cool head and not say anything too stupid.

Bigdig, first off Rashid karameh was a supporter of (financialy and logisticaly) of the murabitoon who were an advisary of the L.F. learn history before you post elementary remarks. NOBODY was cleen during the civil war. second.. maybe my history books are wrong.. but as far as i know the civil war ended in the early 90's not 2006 one year after Harirri was killed, maybe you, as a supporter of HA was still living in the civil war years and yearn that they return, but that another topic and neither here nor there. Fact, no civil war. Fact Harirri was probably THE ONLY politician to arise at that time who did not carry or support weapons.. Karameh decided to support one faction over the other.. that makes him a participant.. dignify yourself with a few educated remarks next time. its called google and you can research almost anything. i expected a better responce from you with your hollier than thou attitude. i am disappointed.
