اجتماع لسفراء الاتحاد الاوروبي "للحث على اجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية بموعدها"

يعقد سفراء الاتحاد الاوروبي اجتماعاً الاسبوع الجاري لبحث "خريطة العمل" من أجل حث اللبنانيين على اجراء الاستحقاق الرئاسي في موعده الدستوري، وفق ما كشفته صحيفة "اللواء".
ونقلت الصحيفة عن مصدر دبلوماسي واسع الاطلاع، الاثنين، ان السفير الأميركي ديفيد هيل وممثل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة ديريك بلامبلي، سيشاركان في اجتماع السفراء الذي سيتم منتصف الأسبوع الحالي.
وأوضح المصدر ان الاجتماع سيناقش "ما يتوجب عمله لجهة حث اللبنانيين على إجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية ضمن موعدها الدستوري، والحؤول دون وقوع الفراغ نظراً لمخاطره على التركيبة اللبنانية والاستقرار العام في البلاد".
الى ذلك، أفاد المصدر ان بلامبلي سيوزع البيان بعد الاجتماع، مشيراً الى ان "صندوق النقد الدولي سيصدر بياناً على الصعيد نفسه يحذر فيه من التداعيات الاقتصادية، لا سيما في مجالات الاستثمار والتصنيف الائتماني اذا لم تجر الانتخابات في موعدها الدستوري".
ويتخوّف من الفراغ الرئاسي، لفشل النواب من انتخاب رئيس جديد للجمهورية ومع اقتراب انتهاء ولاية رئيس الجمهورية ميشال سليمان في 24 ايار، رافضاً التمديد، ومؤكداً انه سيكون في منزله في 25 ايار.

Why are diplomats meeting over internal Lebanese affairs? We do not want to be under the mercy of Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf Arab states who have no idea what democracy is. No to Saudi Arabian influence!

As if Iran is a democracy. What have they done besides build militias in various Arab countries that bully the local communities? Saudi has provided millions of aid throughout the years in addition to employment for many Arabs of all religions.
Had it not been for Saudi and Qatar, the Sunnis of Syria would have been slaughtered. Thank God for Saudi and Qatari support and I hope others realize that supporting Iran is ridiculous, especially if one is Arab, when they systemically oppress their own Ahwaz Arab citizens and consider them as "inferior". Had you been born or living in Iran, by default, as an Arab, Shiite or Sunni, you too would have found yourself denied education and healthcare simply for being Arab.
In sum, no Arab country should ever find itself enslaved by the fanatical Iranian government. Revoke the citizenship of all the Ajam throughout the Gulf and ship them back to where they belong!

proportionality in parliamentary elections is a must as it gives everybody its right size on the political scene
