U.S. Worried about Sudan Cross-Border Violence

Envoys of U.S. President Barack Obama voiced "deep concern" at violence and the humanitarian crisis on the border of Sudan and South Sudan during a visit to the region, the White House said Monday.

Deputy National Security Advisor Denis McDonough joined Washington's special envoy for Sudan, Princeton Lyman, for talks in Khartoum and then in Juba, the capital of newly independent South Sudan, on Sunday and Monday.

West Hails Gadhafi son Capture, Urges Fair Trial

China to Make Yuan More Flexible

Premier Wen Jiabao told U.S. President Barack Obama that China would increase the flexibility of the yuan while stressing that reforms had already had an effect, state television reported Saturday.

"We are closely watching the changes to the yuan's exchange rate ... and will encourage the yuan's flexibility in both directions," CCTV quoted Wen as saying at a meeting with Obama on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit in Indonesia.

Qaida to Produce Film on Awlaqi's Life with Message to U.S.

A radical group in Yemen announced on Wednesday that a film will be produced documenting the life of slain U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaqi and which will include a previously unknown message to Americans.

Partisans of Sharia (Islamic law) said "a film on Awlaqi's life will be produced in both Arabic and English on his role in reviving the rite of jihad (holy war) in the hearts of many Muslim youths, especially in Arab societies," the al-Qaida linked group said in a statement.
