Head of al-Mustaqbal Movement and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri might reportedly attend the anniversary of his father's assassination at the BIEL exhibition center in downtown Beirut on February 14.

According to An Nahar newspaper published on Tuesday, Hariri is mulling to give his speech in person instead of appearing via video link.

Head of the Mustaqbal Movement MP Saad Hariri is scheduled to make an address during a ceremony marking the tenth anniversary of the assassination of former Premier Rafik Hariri on February 14, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Saturday.

His speech will likely tackle the contentious issues that have not been addressed during the Mustaqbal-Hizbullah dialogue, it reported.

The head of al-Mustaqbal Movement and ex-Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, is expected to deliver a televised speech on February 14 to mark the assassination of his father and former premier Rafik Hariri.

The March 14 alliance is gearing up to mark the 10th assassination anniversary of Hariri at the BIEL exhibition center in downtown Beirut, al-Liwaa newspaper reported on Saturday.

Former MP Ghattas Khoury concluded on Wednesday his testimony before the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, revealing that the Syrian regime did not heed calls to refrain from harming Lebanese officials.

He said in his cross-examination by the Defense: “The international community had warned Syria against harming former Premier Rafik Hariri and MP Walid Jumblat, but it ignored it.”

He revealed that slain Minister Bassel Fleihan had warned the premier that there were serious threats against his life.

Former MP Ghattas Khoury continued on Friday his testimony before the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, recounting how slain former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri began to ally himself with the emergent anti-Syria opposition in Lebanon in the aftermath of the extension of the term of President Emile Lahoud in September 2004.

The early signs of his joining of the opposition began with Hariri's rejection of the inclusion of pro-Syria figures on electoral lists devised for the 2005 parliamentary elections.

Former MP Ghattas Khoury appeared on Thursday before the Special Tribunal for Lebanon as a witness to testify on the period in Lebanon that preceded and followed the extension of the term of former President Emile Lahoud.

Khoury, who was closely affiliated with slain Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, spoke of how the Syrian regime influenced political life in Lebanon, causing a “revolt against the Lebanese constitution” that in turn led to the extension of Lahoud's term in office in 2004.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon is working on an amended indictment that will include the name of a sixth suspect in the 2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, reported As Safir newspaper on Saturday.

In addition, the STL Prosecution may summon a lawmaker from Hizbullah's Loyalty to the Resistance bloc as a suspect to give his testimony before the court.

Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Beirut Elias Audeh stressed on Friday the importance of unity and coexistence in Lebanon amid the ongoing developments.

“A new page has opened with a golden chance for us to fortify our unity, which safeguards our independence and sovereignty,” Audeh said during a mass at the St. Demettrius Church in Beirut's Ashrafiyeh district on the 9th anniversary of the assassination of MP Gebran Tueni.

The Special Tribunal for Lebanon heard on Thursday the controversy on telecommunications data that erupted in the aftermath of the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in February 2005.

MP Marwan Hamadeh, who is the first politician to appear in court as a witness in the in absentia trial of five Hizbullah members, provided answers during the cross-examination of defense counsel Vincent Courcelle-Labrousse.
