'Stuart Little' Helps Lost Hungarian Painting Come Home

A long-lost avant-garde painting has returned home to Hungary after nine decades thanks to a sharp-eyed art historian who spotted it being used as a prop in the Hollywood film "Stuart Little".

In 2009 Gergely Barki, a researcher at Hungary's National Gallery, noticed "Sleeping Lady with Black Vase" by Robert Bereny (1888-1953) in the 1999 kids' movie about a mouse as he watched TV with his daughter Lola.

Indonesian Officials Ordered to Eat Street Food to Trim Budget

Indonesia has ordered officials to eat local street food at meetings instead of fancy foreign fare and stop holding lavish parties, the latest moves by the new government to crack down on bureaucratic excess.

Snacks such as cassava, steamed corn and yam cakes should be served at official gatherings and the number of guests invited to high-ranking bureaucrats' parties should be limited to 400, a minister said.

Auction Fetches $28K for 1st Batch of New Bourbon

One of Kentucky's newest whiskey makers is making a big splash, fetching more than $28,000 for its first bottle of bourbon.

The bottle appeared to rank among the most expensive bottles of bourbon ever sold. Eric Gregory, president of the Kentucky Distillers' Association, said he doesn't know of any other bottle that sold for that amount or higher. All of the money will go to a local charity.

Ethiopia Hopes to Set World Record for HIV Tests

Ethiopia is attempting to set a world record for the number of HIV tests carried out in one day.

The country's health officials said Tuesday they hope to break the record this coming weekend in honor of World AIDS Day on Dec. 1. The previous record for number of HIV tests carried out in one day occurred in Argentina in November 2012, when 1,380 people were tested. Ethiopian officials hope to carry out 2,000 tests.
