Pink Octopus so Cute it May be Named 'Adorabilis'

Some say she looks like a ghost from the Pac-Man video game, but she's anything but spooky. In fact, the fist-sized pink octopus is so cute scientists may call her "Opisthoteuthis Adorabilis."

Researchers in California are looking for an appropriate Latin species designation for the mysterious cephalopod and, while little is yet known about it, few would deny that the specimens found so far are adorable.

Finns Urged to Eat on their Feet to Stay Healthy

Finland's health ministry on Wednesday urged Finns to occasionally eat their meals standing up in a bid to combat health problems linked to a sedentary lifestyle.

"Many things can be done in a standing position or walking around instead of sitting down. Standing up also works for reading a newspaper, eating, taking a coffee break and watching television," the ministry recommended in a new publication entitled "Sit Less, Feel Better".

London Museum Deploys 'Gay' Moth Sex Controls

London's Natural History Museum is trialing a quirky system using female moth pheromones to confuse males into homosexual activity in its battle to stop the damaging cloth-eating insects from breeding.

British agricultural technology company Exosect impregnates wax tablets with minute levels of the pheromones, which rub off on amorous male moths, who in turn go on to attract other males.

Japan Overturns Midnight Dancing Ban

Dancing after midnight in Tokyo will no longer be illegal -- as long as it's not too dark -- after Japan's parliament Wednesday voted to relax laws that banned boogying in one of the world's clubbing capitals.

Under current rules dance clubs across the country are supposed to stop people from shaking their stuff once the clock ticks over to 12 am.

Pakistan Tribal Court Fines Boy, 10, for 'Affair' with Married Woman

A tribal court in southern Pakistan has convicted a 10-year-old boy of having an affair with a married woman in her late 30s and ordered him to pay a fine of $7,000, police said Tuesday.

U.S. Mayor Says Town Full, Temporarily Closed to Outsiders

The mayor of a central New Jersey town is barring nonresidents from entering the community via a major highway — but it's just a temporary prohibition.

Belmar Mayor Matt Doherty announced the decision in a twitter posted around 3 p.m. Sunday. He says traffic into the town from Route 35 is "shut down immediately" because the Monmouth County community of about 6,000 people has "reached its capacity." Doherty says the decision was made for public safety reasons.
