Qassem says Hezbollah does not accept 'surrendering country to Israel'

Hezbollah chief Sheikh Naim Qassem on Monday warned against what he called “surrendering” the country to Israel.

Israel fires 6 shells at Aitaroun's outskirts after strike threat prompts evacuation

The Israeli army on Monday fired six mortar shells at the eastern outskirts of the southern border town of Aitaroun.

The U.S. Embassy in Beirut has announced the November 14 arrival of U.S. Ambassador-Designate Michel Issa in Lebanon.

"Ambassador Issa had a distinguished former career in banking, where he spent two decades excelling as a currency trader, managing trading floors, and leading initiatives in credit and compliance before transitioning to a successful career in the automobile industry," the Embassy said in a statement.

Israeli army claims Hezbollah killed Elias Hasrouni in 2023

The Israeli army on Friday claimed that it has managed to confirm that Hezbollah’s so-called Unit 121 was behind the 2023 “assassination” of Lebanese Forces official Elias Hasrouni in south Lebanon’s Bint Jbeil district.

“This comes contrary to the rumors spread by Hezbollah, which claimed that he was killed in a traffic accident. Hasrouni, aged 70 when he was assassinated, was known for his stance that fiercely opposes Hezbollah,” Israeli army Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X.

Saudi ambassador says Lebanon to see great prosperity

Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari on Friday said that “Lebanon is a message” and that “it is not a minor thing that Pope Leo’s first foreign visit will be to it.”

Lebanon, Syria officials to meet in December over border demarcation, report says

French President's advisor Anne-Claire Legendre has reiterated during a visit to Lebanon her country's readiness to provide all the necessary maps and documents to facilitate the border demarcation between Lebanon and Syria, Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji said.

Meanwhile al-Jadeed TV reported that a Lebanese-Syrian meeting on the demarcation between the two countries will be held in December, under the auspices of the United Nations.

UNIFIL criticizes Israel for building walls in Lebanese territory

UNIFIL said Friday that its troops conducted last month a geospatial survey of a concrete T-wall erected by the Israeli army southwest of the Lebanese border town of Yaroun.

“The survey confirmed that the wall crossed the Blue Line, rendering more than 4,000 square meters of Lebanese territory inaccessible to the Lebanese people,” UNIFIL said in a statement.

Aoun: Army is in charge and will change situations in the South

The situations in the South “will change with the presence of the army,” whose strength “stems from its legitimacy and people’s embracement and firm confidence,” President Joseph Aoun said on Friday.
