Clinton Promotes Democracy in Mongolia

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Mongolia Monday as part of an Asian tour aimed at promoting democracy, as local politicians were locked in dispute over recent elections.

Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj has called on all parties to agree on forming a ruling coalition, after official results showed the opposition Democratic Party won most seats, but not enough for a majority.

U.S. Sues to Return Tyrannosaurus Skeleton to Mongolia

The U.S. government is suing to force an auction house to return the fossil of a dinosaur that roamed Mongolia 70 million years ago to the Asian country.

The nearly complete Tyrannosaurus bataar is believed to have been unearthed between 1995 and 2005, and is one of several specimens first discovered in the Gobi desert in 1946.

U.S. Sues to Force Return of Dinosaur to Mongolia

The fossil of a dinosaur that roamed the earth 70 million years ago should be turned over to the United States by an auction house so that it can be returned to its home in Mongolia, a lawsuit brought by the U.S. government demanded Monday.

The nearly complete Tyrannosaurus bataar skeleton was imported from Great Britain to Gainesville, Fla., in March 2010 with erroneous claims that it originated in Great Britain and was worth only $15,000, according to the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
