A 38-year-old first adjutant at the Internal Security Forces was killed on Tuesday and a sergeant severely wounded after their military vehicle slid off into a valley in Qartaba, in north of Beirut.

The state-run National News Agency reported that the flip over was caused by landslide due to the heavy rain.

Three people were killed Friday and three wounded during a family dispute in the region Mastita in Jbeil, reported the National News Agency on Saturday.

It said that the dispute erupted between members of the al-Qouba, Abi Younes, and Ghussein families, as well as a number of Syrian nationals.

The Internal Security Forces Intelligence Branch have found a hand grenade near the site where a Syrian man was killed in a bomb blast north of Beirut on Tuesday, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said Thursday that the grenade was found in the garden of the house in the town of Halat in Jbeil where Moussa Mustafa Ibrahim died after a bomb exploded while he was in the rented room.

A Lebanese taxi driver filed a complaint with police in the coastal town of Jbeil, north of Beirut, against two Syrian passengers who robbed him at dawn Thursday. But one of them forgot his ID in the car.

Mohammed Qabbani told the Internal Security Forces that two Syrians asked him for a ride to the area of al-Barbara near Jbeil, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The Army Command stated on Tuesday that its units throughout Lebanon are continuing their efforts in assisting citizens who have been stranded by the snow and floods caused by the storm that has been affecting the country since Saturday.

It said in a statement that it has been helping stranded citizens throughout Lebanon, most notably in the areas of Baalbek, Akkar, Jbeil, and Keserwan.

A minor scuffle broke out on Sunday between Lebanese Forces and Free Patriotic Movement supporters in the Jbeil town of Mayfouq, reported the National News Agency.

It said that the clash erupted between the gatherers on the side of the road as FPM leader MP Michel Aoun’s convoy was leaving the town.

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun declared on Sunday that it is no longer acceptable that the “majority of the people be represented through a parliamentary minority,” reported the National News Agency.

He said of the parliamentary electoral law: “Those demanding the adoption of small electoral districts want to fragment Lebanon because they are only seeking their immediate interests.”

The Internal Security Forces confirmed on Friday that gunmen assaulted one of its patrols as it was attempting to prevent individuals from illegally cutting down trees for firewood in the town of Almat, Jbeil.

Chief of police Joseph al-Duweihi said in a press conference that some 20 gunmen assaulted the patrol, stealing some of their weapons.

Three people were wounded on Thursday in a car accident involving Prime Minister Najib Miqati’s motorcade.

The accident took place on the Mestita road in Jbeil as the convoy was headed towards northern Lebanon.

The number of suspects arrested for assaulting a deacon and another man earlier this month in the predominantly Shiite town of Lassa rose to three after two more people admitted to the crime, the National News Agency reported Saturday.

NNA said that Rouwad al-Moqdad, 30, and Fares al-Moqdad, 28, were handed over to the military police after admitting that they were behind the assault on Deacon Tony Hakim and his companion Anis Daou on Aug. 20.
