ABC's Amy Robach to have Double Mastectomy

A month after undergoing a mammogram on "Good Morning America," ABC's Amy Robach said Monday she has breast cancer and will have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery this week.

The 40-year-old correspondent admitted she had been reluctant to have the public mammogram but went ahead after "GMA" anchor Robin Roberts told her that if the story saved one life, it would be worth it.

Germany Starts Identifying Munich Art Found Online

Bowing to pressure from Jewish groups and art experts, the German government made public details of paintings in a recovered trove of some 1,400 pieces of art, many of which may have been stolen by the Nazis, and said it would put together a task force to speed identification.

The German government said in a written statement that about 590 of the pieces could have been stolen by the Nazis. In a surprise move, it quickly featured some 25 of those works on the website www.lostart.de and said it would be regularly updated.

Online Retail Helps Earns at Deutsche Post DHL

Express delivery and freight company Deutsche Post DHL saw its net profit rise 6 percent in the third quarter as its parcel business in Germany benefited from growth in online retailing.

The company said Tuesday that its net profit reached 399 million euros ($534 million), up from 377 million in the same quarter last year. The figure was just short of the average analyst estimate of 403 million euros compiled by financial information provider FactSet.

2014 World Cup Tickets Sold out in 7 Hours

The nearly 230,000 tickets in the second phase of sales for the 2014 World Cup were sold out Monday just seven hours after being made available on FIFA's website.

FIFA said the "level of interest was impressive," and was greater than in the first sales window, when almost 890,000 tickets were allocated through a random selection draw.

The vice president of the European Commission has said that taxpayer-funded bank bailouts remain a possibility if the current round of stress tests of Europe's biggest banks reveal significant capital shortfalls — or if Europe's debt crisis were to really flare up again.

However, Joaquin Almunia repeated that the governments' preferred method remains to force investors such as shareholders, bondholders and ultimately depositors, to pay first.

The Indiana Pacers remained the NBA's only unbeaten team this season after Paul George scored 23 points and Lance Stephenson had the first triple-double of his career in a 95-79 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

Indiana became the NBA's seventh team to open the season with eight wins and no losses since 2000 — two more wins than the club's previous best start. Chastain Talks Attention over Possible Bio Dad

Early this year as Jessica Chastain was in the midst of an Oscar blitz for "Zero Dark Thirty," media outlets picked up a story that her biological father, a musician named Michael Monasterio, had died. Chastain did not attend the funeral and she did not comment publicly on his death.

In Vogue's December issue, Chastain calls the attention "very difficult." She says no father is listed on her birth certificate and there's "no proof of anything." She says she remained silent at the time out of respect for her stepfather, Michael Hastey.
