An Israeli government spokeswoman on Thursday said high profile Palestinian prisoner Marwan Barghouti would not be exchanged as part of the Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal reached by Israel and Hamas.

Ukraine orders evacuation of children around frontline city of Kramatorsk

Ukraine announced on Thursday it was ordering the evacuation of children and their guardians from towns and villages in and around the eastern frontline city of Kramatorsk, citing an uptick in Russian drone attacks.

Eastern Spain placed on red alert for heavy rains

Spain's weather agency on Thursday issued its highest alert for heavy rains in Alicante in the eastern region of Valencia, where deadly floods struck last year, warning of "extraordinary danger".

AEMET said the red alert would be in effect from 10:00 am (0800 GMT) on Friday in Mediterranean coastal regions of the province of Alicante, as well as in the neighboring region of Murcia.
