Judiciary Refuses to Hand over Complete Telecom Data to ISF on Geagea Probe

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

A competent judicial authority refused to provide the Internal Security Forces with the complete telecom data to continue their probe into the assassination attempt on Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea.

An Nahar newspaper said that the judicial authority which is tasked with assessing the possibility of providing the security forces with the telecom data includes Head of the Audit Bureau Judge Aouni Ramadan, Head of the Shura Council Shukri Sader and first president of the Court of Cassation Judge Hatem Madi.

Telecommunication Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui denied to al-Joumhouria newspaper that his ministry is blocking the security authorities from obtaining the telecom data.

“The ministry receives monthly around 300 applications by the security forces (The General Security, the Internal Security Forces, the State Security and the Army) and we approve their requests,” Sehnaoui told the daily.

However, he noted that providing the security authorities with “all the data” requires the approval of the competent judiciary authority.

The dispute on telecom data emerged to the surface after Geagea escaped an assassination attempt last week.

Sehnaoui revealed that the judicial authority failed to approve in March the requests to provide the security forces with all the data.

He stressed that the telecom ministry has to “provide the security authorities with all the required help in order to track down criminals and terrorists to maintain stability and security” in Lebanon.

Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc condemned during its weekly meeting on Tuesday the “ongoing telecom data scandal,” urging the cabinet to end this dispute through enabling the security authorities to constantly be granted access to the data.”

However, Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun lashed out at the March 14 forces for accusing Sehnaoui of preventing the ISF from obtaining the telecom data.

“There is a legal process that needs to be followed…The committee of judges is concerned with this issue and not the minister,” he said during the block’s weekly meeting.

Don't worry... I know you're GF is breaking up with you... I don't need telecom data to prove it.

So strange that at each murder -or attempt- there are fantoms blocking the investigation in a way. More strange is that all victims belong to the same political party. Even more strange is that victims are accused of being behind the attempts.
The only murder which authors have been caught on the fact is that of Antelias, simply because they died victims of their own bomb. Strangely they came from south beirut to the heart of antelias to explode in the middle of the day a public place where innocents people may be present.
So please shut up.

Well this could be true if not for many mistakes:
1-Gen. Francois el Hajj was one of GMA officers during the war and he's totally against Harriri
2- Many assassination were perpetrated by FAt7 elIsalm the Harriri militia
3- The Antelias issue was a hand grenade exploding between 2 rivals of course M14 have their own political truth and won't believe ISF report nor Lebanese army report.
So please read more

fpm is now blatantly considered a conspirator and associate to the fact in the assassination attempt against Geagea, as well as harboring the criminals.

Thumb kesrweneh 11 April 2012, 12:48

Geha there was no assassination attempt against Geagea just a silly failed attempt to regain sympathy by creating a Bollywood movie. And well don't forget upon Rafic HArrir assassination all political parties not allied with Mustaqbal were labeled as assassins, so what's new? M14 were low and they still are

Aoun...“There is a legal process that needs to be followed…The committee of judges is concerned with this issue and not the minister,”
Just like you followed the Legal process when you were in opposition Mr Aoun...

I am really worried about the Christians if there are lots of blind followers like keserweneh! Anyways, how much longer Aoun will live, year, two, three, then what these followers will do? mass suicide?

Thumb beiruti 11 April 2012, 15:25

Sure, sure Aoun, there is a "legal process". Right, we all believe that. The fact of the matter is that the assassination attempt may well have been carried out by a party or faction that is in the majority in this current usurped M8 government so that the government is covering up for one of its own. This is no government, it is a cover for a mafia operation and in the mafia, one never gives up one of its own. The message thus becomes clear to persons such as Geagea to sit down and put his head down and shut up, otherwise, the next assassination attempt will work and the mafia regime will end the Geagea rise. As a Maronite with political pull within the Sunni political circles, Geagea is definitely a threat to the mafia government in Beirut, and we all know how the mafia deals with threats.

Don't you think that by now anyone who wants to conduct an assassination is not going to use cell phones? The request for cell phone data has ulterior motives and should not be fulfilled.

Default-user-icon Clutch (Guest) 11 April 2012, 16:59

No the whole assassination story is to executed by hizbollah s thugs and only o divert the attention from the real story of the release of the traitor Fayez Karam .

Keserwaneh,

I know the people of Kerwan are much smarter than you are. You think a hand granade would blow half the body of person and the other kneeling on his feet to place the bomb under the car. Also, did you see the whole in the ground the "hand grande" made. Sure this was just a granade tossed between two people that happened to be hizballah members from South Beirut who happend to be in a parking lot int the Christian Heartland. This is something a two year old boy would question.

What is sad about this is how the Aounieh are willing to go to cover for Hizbshiaton.

@ flamethrower and keserweneh, the only reason Sehnaoui said that he will comply with anything that the judicial council will ask is because M8 controls the council. Same thing happened with the money that was supposed to be for the international tribunal. They said it must be a case transfered to the judicial council . So stop your bullshit. By the way are you proud about what the great general said yesterday? that he is not ashamed of karam and that his friend commited a mistake and PAID for it? spying for Israel if you know Aoun personally reduces the sentence to 9 month... Specially that he was a general even worse. But civilians spying because they have no money or no affiliations and some did it to survive. Very fair isnt it?

Default-user-icon Skyfall (Guest) 11 April 2012, 19:21

Anyway many Aounist i know have abandonned your crazy general, it is amazing how you cannot see how much of a bootlicker he is. Anyway i know one of the reasons you follow him. You think he is clean. well im sorry to tell you my friend, the hundred of bodyguards surrounding Rabieh, other than personnal bodyguards for his family and mps, how are they paid? with donation money? and how come when you ask ahel batroun they tell you Bassil bought half the lands there even aounists? Did they tell you that the second biggest shareholder in Solidere is a follower of the FPM and has close ties with Aoun? see you are funny, you thought he and the FPM are loyal to Lebanon and against Israel. We saw the happy news with a spy inside your lovely nest. keep following surprises fool.

And by the way, im against hezbollah , and do not suppot blindly March 14th and criticize them a lot, but i respect hezbollah much more than tayyar. Those are their convictions, they do not change, they do not abandon them, or even say something and do something else , not like the supposed support of your general to Nahhas and abandon him after, wanting a general security director of the airport a christian and then shutting up and letting Hezbollah put one of his men. As well as the the lebanese university chairman a man that hezbollah chose over the tayyar nominee and it was approved. You are nothing but cards in the hands of the hezb. Ashraf menkon bi ktir.

sophia angle, your a lost case, now Dr Samir Geagea is the commander of the Lebanese Forces - and on his orders 5000 christian fighters will over run Beirut just like Hezbolla did - but he is trying to maintain peace. and anyone that maintains peace is a target for assasination in Lebanon. I think the attempt was a warning/message however not an actual attempt to kill him.
