Salam seeks Arab and international support for Lebanon at UN summit
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam met Wednesday with Arab League chief Nabil Fahmy in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations summit.
The meeting focused on mobilizing Arab support for crisis- and war-hit Lebanon, to facilitate the country's recovery and reconstruction.
Salam, alongside leaders and representatives from Lebanon, Gulf states, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Jordan, participated in a summit hosted and chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump to address regional security and political developments.
On the sidelines of the U.N. assembly, Salam also held talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
According to local media reports, Salam is scheduled to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Saturday.
