Woman, 3 Men Arrested over Drug Possession near Jbeil University
Four people were arrested on Saturday in the port city of Jbeil for possessing a large quantity of hashish, the state-run National News Agency reported.
“A patrol of the Jbeil police department detained three young men and a woman and seized large quantities of hashish with them,” the NNA said.
The detainee were identified as, A.Z., 20, J.Sh., 20, M.J., 20, and 23 year old S.A., and they were arrested near an university in the city.
“They were referred to Jbeil's judicial department for further investigation,” the same source noted.
In February, the Internal Security Forces managed to seize three kilograms of hashish in the Jbeil region, and arrested three Iraqis in connection with the case.
The ISF said the drugs were hidden inside an obsolete washing machine that was put on a small truck used in the business of selling scrap metal.
